In Lima, the University of Arizona partners with the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC). UPC is the 4th ranked university in all of Peru and is also the country's largest private university with over 44,000 undergraduate students. Courses at UPC are taught in collaboration with the University of Arizona, allowing you to earn direct University of Arizona credit.

UPC Course: CC 227: Introduction to Deep Learning
Course Description: In this course we will learn the basic concepts of deep neural networks, focusing on both the theoretical and practical part. We will discuss recent supervised and unsupervised learning models, as well as techniques and considerations to take into account when training deep neural networks. Among the topics that we will cover we have: multilayer neural networks, convolutional neural networks, optimizers, sequential models, generative models, transformers and recent models. In addition, applications in various fields will be presented throughout the course.
UArizona Equivalent Course: SIE Department Elective, Upper Division

UPC Course: SI 710: Information Technology Management
Course Description: The course explains the fundamentals of IT Service Management, how IT Service Management influences the achievement of business objectives and, based on the ITIL 4 methodological approach, develops a proposal of the implementation that an IT organization should carry out to maximize the value in the delivery and support of its technology services.

Study Lima students have the option to stay in homestays, dorms, or apartments. Housing options range in price, but are generally very affordable. Once you are accepted to the Study Lima program, our partner will guide you through the housing selection process.

  • First Day of Classes: August 19
  • Last Day of Classes: November 30
  • Final Exams: December 2-7

Semester Cost

  • $50 Study Abroad Application Fee
  • Mandatory Geo Blue International Health Insurance at a rate of $3 a day (approximately $360 a semester)
  • You pay Main Campus UA Tuition & Fees to study abroad and receive all of the financial aid you use on main campus
  • Other estimated costs include but not limited to transportation (air & local), visa, meals, books and supplies
  • UA Study Abroad scholarships are available based on eligibility
