Kevin Carton

Academic Advisor, International Direct

As Academic Advisor, Kevin works directly with the Office of International Education to support students studying in the online International Direct campus (formerly called Global Direct). A proactive advisor, he serves undergraduate, transfer and non-degree seeking students by supporting their onboarding to the University of Arizona, reviewing and evaluating transcripts for transfer credit, helping students navigate university policies and procedures, and acting as an accessible source of information about academic requirements for a variety of degree programs and pathways. Kevin also facilitates virtual student engagement events and communication throughout the year, in addition to serving as the point of contact for International Direct students seeking to transition their studies to the Main campus in Tucson.

Kevin received a Bachelor of Arts from Augustana College (Rock Island, Illinois) in Communication Studies, French, and Africana Studies. He completed the final term of his senior year in Ghana and Senegal and upon graduating, spent a year teaching English in Montauban, France.

Kevin earned a Master of Education in Global Studies from the University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign, Illinois).

Outside of work, Kevin can be found behind a piano, appreciating nature’s beauty, exploring new travel destinations, and spending quality time with loved ones.
